Description

Assistant Cook required for residential care home.

Must have at least NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in professional cookery.

Assist the head cook in preparing nutritionally balanced & attractively presented meals for residents,tenants and clients, taking into account individual preferences and special dietary needs while making the best use of fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Assist the head cook in organising and arranging the provision of catering for official functions, both of a formal and informal nature.

This may require flexibility of working hours and will include the ordering of stocks for such events.

Assist the head cook in monitoring and evaluating how effectively the needs of all residents are being met, paying attention to any special dietary needs.

Assist the head cook in planning & reviewing regularly menus and update as necessary.

Assist the head cook with food stock levels & ordering as required.

Assist the head cook in ensuring all food is checked for quality and quantity and monitor accordingly in preparing nutritionally balanced, well presented food.

Work within the catering team to prepare all meals, wash up after meals & to undertake general cleaning duties within the kitchen area as determined by the working schedules.

Part-time hours: 35-45 per week

£12.42 per hour
