Some key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Ensuring appropriate and enriching English curriculum is provided to meet the educational needs of learners so they can achieve their goals.
  • Ensuring the arts curriculum in the Centre is delivered effectively through line management of the Art Coordinator
  • Manage day to day requirements such as examination entry, departmental staffing allocations ensuring accurate records are kept and delegating as appropriate to ensure the efficiency of the departments
  • Ensuring literacy and reading is promoted effectively across the Centre.
  • Hold responsibility for developing learner's curriculum, and ensuring learner groups are allocated accordingly.
  • To contribute to the Centre Improvement Plan to ensure progress and attainment in English and the arts remains a priority.
  • Communicate and collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to ensure learners receive highquality support and input to facilitate individual progression.
  • Promote a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Be proactive in identifying training needs within the departments, ensuring that they are appropriately met, and that all members of each department are active in their own professional development.
  • Line manage all teachers within the named departments, holding regular meetings and conducting annual appraisals. As a Teacher
  • Negotiate the curriculum to meet individual learners learning objectives and SEND needs.
  • Monitor learner progress through regular making and feedback to inform future planning.
  • Complete and submit registers at the start of every session.
  • Complete termly reports and records of achievements as required for each learner.
  • Provide feedback to parents and carers where necessary and attend parent carer consultations to maintain positive relationships.
  • Support educational trips and outings as appropriate.
  • Positively contribute to the development of teaching and learning through collaboration and cooperation to deliver highquality results.

To be considered for this role as a minimum you will need to be:

  • A qualified teacher
  • Have experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs.

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Permanent


Salary:
Up to £40,000.00 per year

Expected hours:
No more than 40 per week
