As a Senior Events Manager you will be a key member of the BID team and expected to visibly demonstrate your management role and make a major contribution to the development and realisation of the team's strategic objectives.

The broad responsibility ofthe role is to provide the opportunity to work on a range of different events across the BIDs exciting and varied event calendar - from fun Children's trails to music and food festivals in the prestigious Solihull town centre.


The role requires a strong team player who is responsible, methodical and who can demonstrate timely completion of agreed projects whilst remaining flexible.

The Senior Events Manager also needs to be able to work on a range of event management projectsand tasks concurrently.

You will work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at senior levels and be expected to create long lasting relationships of trust with them.

Solihull Business Improvement District is a not-for-profit organisation funded by the business in Solihull town centre.

We are here to support and promote the defined area of the town and all the businesses within, to drive footfall, crate dynamic eventsand build a robust communication and marketing plan to create a thriving and successful town centre.


About you
We are looking for a strong individual who will be able to lead a team to success.

You will be a great communicator and a strong team player who works well with others, as you will work closely with our other lovely team members, as well as leading on therelationships management of the many high-value supporters who are vital to our success.

You will be experienced in the production of a range of small to large scale complex events, working with five figure budgets and have a proven track record of meetingstrategic goals and targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all operational & production logistics for our calendar of events including areas such as AV, venue, creative briefing, catering, market traders, artists, security, music, and photography whilst acting as key event liaison with our internal teamsand external suppliers
  • Produce all timelines and risk assessments where necessary, working in conjunction with the key partners
  • Work with the BID team and external partners to ensure appropriate marketing collateral is produced pre, during and postevent
  • Negotiate, manage and maintain excellent professional relationships with existing and potential suppliers
  • Creation and management of preevent briefing
  • Create information for data sheets and generate specific event social media posts
  • Owning the annual event calendar for all the BID events
  • Leading the planning, execution and review of all events
  • Working with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the events meet business objectives and preset KPIs
  • Managing the allocated Event budgets, ensuring all planned activity remains on track
  • Input ideas for engaging and responsive event marketing collateral
  • Work with the BID team to define key audiences and develop content strategies
  • Generate monthly reports/metrics to gauge the usefulness of marketing and events
  • Input into the communications plan and wider marketing strategy
  • Work with the BID team and external partners to ensure appropriate marketing collateral is produced pre, during and postevent
  • Ensure marketing and sales activity is measured to support continuous improvement

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience of managing and delivering high level events
  • Substantial experience in a senior events role
  • Experience of Business Planning and strategy input
  • Proven experience of working in a team environment
  • Leadership skills: ideally line and team management experience
  • Influencing skills: excellent communications skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels within the organisation
  • Excellent problemsolving skills with an initiativetaking approach and mindset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organisation with the ability to manage multiple events concurrently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with dynamic priorities
  • Experienced in MS Office, experience in Adobe suite would be desirable but not essential
  • Structured and organised, but also flexible
  • Analytical and data focused
  • Clear understanding of the commercial business practices that underpin events marketing, a strong commercial awareness
