JOB OVERVIEW


As a tutor, you will primarily be required to contribute to the development, production and delivery of teaching and learning materials for the international year Two in Business Management Science modules (SCQF 8).

You may also have the opportunity to deliver pre-master's research methods or project supervision on our Business and Social Sciences Pre-master's programmes (SCQF 9/10), or depending on your specialities, to deliver on our Undergraduate Foundation Programme ( SCQF 7).


ABOUT THE ROLE


Reporting to the Subject Lead for Business you will primarily be responsible for the design, delivery and development of modules in the Management Scence Business analysis and Technology modules for our International year two in Business.

You may also be asked to cover other Business modules depending on your experience, along with PMP research methods and supervision.


Duties Include:

  • Contribute to the design, delivery and development of modules offered by International Study Centre at the University of Strathclyde in liaison with the UoS department where necessary.
  • Prepare and deliver teaching lessons, Including, seminars and tutorial sessions.
  • Write and prepare module examinations, marking rubrics and other forms of formative and summative assessment.
  • Mark students' formative and summative assessment submissions and provide timely feedback to students on their performance, including during onetoone tutorials/ LCs and through regular student reports (usually RPAGs)
  • Writing additional reports for sponsored students if and when required
  • Develop and update course material for modules and teaching sessions, including module material for the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
  • Work with the Centre's administration team in the delivery of induction, orientation and registration for the programmes.
  • Notify and liaise with colleagues, where necessary, to ensure all students receive appropriate ongoing welfare and progression support.
  • Track students' academic journey, and identify and implement appropriate intervention strategies to support ongoing learning in liaison with the Academic management team.
  • Act as a Learning Development tutor/ Skills for Success tutor for one or more groups of students if required.
  • Take part in bitermly Learning conversations with students offering progression and engagement guidance and support.
  • Follow centre protocol and liaise with colleagues and line manager according to procedure in particular regarding compliance processes such as class timetabling, attendance and engagement monitoring.

ABOUT YOU
You will have experience of or a commitment to working with international students and have:

  • Relevant Teaching Qualification (or be in the process of achieving this)
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
