Description
a.

Line managing all patient services staff, supporting staff development, providing guidance and direction, ensuring staff are up to date with mandatory training b.

Maintain quality of provision within the patient services team and ensuring that there is continuous training that addresses area of need c.

Identifying and delivering team training where required d.

Compiling patient services team rotas e. Supporting the management team in the compilation of practice reports and the practice development plan f. Developing, implementing and embedding efficient office processes and procedures to adhere to extant legislation g.

Coordinating the provision of patient services staff and their annual leave, ensuring sufficient cover is provided for periods of leave and other staff absences h.

Providing initial guidance and advice to patients who wish to verbally complain i. Co-ordinate workflow within the patient services team ensuring that policy is followed at all times j.

Complete coding of workflow documents ensuring that this is done in a timely manner and in line with surgery policy k.

Answering incoming patient calls and assisting patients on the front desk l.


Processing prescriptions in accordance with the surgeries prescribing policy In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Patient Service Team lead may be requested to: a.

Partake in audit as directed by the audit lead b. Coordinate and produce meeting agendas and record the minutes of meetings c. Champion continuous improvement, encouraging staff to participate and make suggestions for CI initiatives d.

Assist with QOF targets
