The Urodynamic Department is an outpatient clinic involved in the investigation of bladder dysfunction.
We are looking for a motivated, reliable, enthusiastic person, with an interest in Urology, to work with the Urology Specialist Nurses.
As a clinical support worker, you will be a vital member of this team who will be enthusiastic, resilient and passionate about providing the best care to our patients.
The post holder participates as an integral member of the Urodynamic clinic, performing clinical and clerical duties under the guidance and supervision of the Urology Specialist Nurses.
Assist the Urodynamic clinic nurse to perform urodynamic investigations maintaining the privacy and dignity of the patient at all times.
Assist in the preparation and setting up of the specialist Urodynamic investigation equipment, flow meter, bladder scan unit and catheterisation trolley to ensure that all requirements are ready for the investigation to go ahead.

Assist the Urodynamic clinic nurse to perform urodynamic investigations maintaining the privacy and dignity of the patient at all times.

Be sensitive to the personal nature of the investigations being performed in the department. Be able to provide to the patient relevant information regarding what is involved in the investigation to be performed.
Be able to adapt to the specific needs of the patient, particular those with physical or learning disabilities.
Be actively involved in the Flow Clinic.
Competently perform urinary flow tests and bladder scans, without direct supervision but with a registered nurse being available in the department.
Take responsibility for the flow clinic in the event of sickness or annual leave, without direct supervision but with a registered nurse being available in the department.
