Permanent (Full-Time, 40 Hrs)


Here at Serco we are looking for an Admin Support Officer to join the Offender Management Unit at our new state of the art Category C prison, HMP Fosse Way.


The main role of an Admin Support Officer (ASO) based within the Offender Management Unit (OMU) is to work as part of a team, ensuring up to date prisoner records are kept throughout periods in custody whether on remand or sentenced.

In addition, allocating work to Prison/Probation Offender Managers and obtaining information to assist with and inform risk management.

Updating prison recording systems (NOMIS/DPS/local databases) following admission of all new prisoners whether remand/sentenced.
Allocating cases to Prison Offender Manager (POM) caseloads.
Identifying those requiring risk assessments such as initial and recategorisations as well as OASys/Sentence Planning.
Scheduling, attending and completing minutes for meetings such as IPP progression panels and monthly Inter-Departmental Risk Management meetings (IRMT).
Obtaining information in regards to MAPPA categories and levels.
Overseeing functional mailboxes, obtaining legal documentation and warrants following court/video link appearances
Liaising with both internal and external agencies on behalf of the Offender Management Unit
Contributing to the smooth running and overall performance within the department
General admin - filing of documents/parcels as well as collecting/sending mail for the department

What you will need to do the role

GCSEs - Maths, English Grade C or above
Good IT literacy - Systems, Excel, Word
A strong communicator, with the ability to get messages across effectively both verbally and in writing
Collaborative team worker
Solid organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate workload based on deadlines
Sound ethical and professional standards
Confident and credible, with strong communication skills
Can demonstrate ability/experience in working within a busy environment.
Must be able to multi-task varied and demanding workloads.
At all times maintain professional boundaries and adhere to the Serco Code of Conduct and local policies and procedures.

What else do you need to know?
You will be required to obtain Ministry of Justice Enhanced Level 2 Vetting.
