Freight Coordinator


Department & Location:
Logistics, Head Office, 1 Vulcan Way, Coalville, Leicestershire, LE67 3AP


Reporting To:
Shipping & Logistics Manager


Main Purpose of the Role:

Facilitation of the logistics operations of CMS Cepcor Ltd. Administration and support of the logistics and transportation processes of products manufactured and traded by CMS Cepcor Ltd.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Completion of all consignment tasks;
  • Create and maintain accurate documents in relation to export consignments;
  • Proactively manage, track and monitor outbound freight and deliveries;
  • Maintain strict records of all daily events;
  • Foster good working relationships with internal and external parties;
  • Ensure great communication at all times;
  • Work cohesively together with the Logistics team and other departments in order to meet client demands.
  • Be aware of and practice specific duties in relation to the legal movement of all hazardous goods;
  • Be aware of and practice cost effective, profitable, economical structures and methods of shipment, where required;
  • Arrange haulage with shipping line/haulers including price negotiation;

Consignment Tasks

  • Completion of all consignment tasks in a timely manner, from receipt of booking to the organisation of international transport by road, sea or airfreight, according to availability and client requirements.

Documentation and Record Keeping

  • Prepare, create and execute correctly and efficiently completed documents relating to export consignments, including all designated destination export customs documents, ensuring full compliance with any relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Maintain strict, accurate records of daily events, as per CMS Cepcor Ltd's standard work processes.

Communication

  • Foster good working relationships with all external and internal parties, particularly with clients to whom we are ultimately responsible.

Key Competencies, Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Proven experience of logistics role(s) including working knowledge of relevant documentation for exports.
  • Computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook programs.
  • A professional and confident telephone manner will be required to maintain our outstanding customer service reputation.
  • Proactive approach to work in order anticipate, prevent and solve problems.
  • Work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
