Description

The post holder is required to provide strategic leadership, clinical expertise, specialist knowledge, support and supervision on adult safeguarding and associated issues, including domestic abuse, Mental Capacity Act (MCA), Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Prevent and Modern Day Slavery.

Deputise for the AD safeguarding as required.

The role will provide training and support to clinical staff within primary care to embed adult safeguarding practice.


The post holder is responsible for providing an effective, credible and expert level of clinical support to the Associate Director Adult Safeguarding ensuring that robust mechanisms are in place, to demonstrate that all aspects of adult safeguarding are applied within provider organisations.

Lead on integration of work streams with HWEICB safeguarding children team to achieve a 'Think Family' approach for young people transitioning into adults including children in care


Collaborate with multi-agency teams from external agencies on a strategic and operational level to protect adults at risk across HWEICB.


Provide assurance to HWEICB Quality committee that safeguarding adults practice is robust and aligned with The Care Act 2014, Safeguarding Assurance and Accountability Framework, Local Authorities Policies/Procedures.

Contribute to quality improvement/ continuous improvement and patient safety as relevant.


Provide leadership and support on the health inequality portfolio to ensure patient outcomes and experiences are in line with required quality standards.
