Mental Health Practitioner

Location:
Bristol

Medical Staffing is delighted to offer a great opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Mental Health Practitioner who wishes to develop their career within an exceptional primary care environment.


The duties of the role may vary from time to time depending on current and evolving workloads and staffing levels:

  • To work independently in the Surgery and the Community, providing assessment, treatment and referral of patients with specified mental health problems and unexplained symptoms.
  • Work with patients to support engagement with appropriate services and treatment, which may include onward referral to secondary mental health services, or signposting to other mental health services, voluntary services and support groups.
  • Be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
  • Keep detailed records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols on the GP record systems.
  • Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary.
  • Review medication for therapeutic effectiveness appropriate to patient needs and in according with evidence based practice and national and practice protocols.
  • Work with other health and social care professionals to assess, treat and monitor the management of patients in line with locality needs.

Key requirements:


  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience working in primary care
  • Ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with patients
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow care plans and treatment protocols
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in a team setting
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software for documentation purposes

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Temporary contract


Pay:
£18.29-£32.19 per hour
