Are you a Community midwife looking for a change?, or maybe just want to know more about working as a community midwife at Sandwell and West Birmingham hospital trust?

Whilst also offering appropriate support for those who require additional care. Every service user is treated as an individual and their values are our values.

Being a car owner/driver is essential for this post.

We are looking for compassionate and friendly Band6 midwives who have good time management and organisational skills. Being a team player is essential whilst also being able to work autonomously where required.

Training can be provided for up skilling (if required) and if you have particular interest in developing an area of your practice we will endeavor to accommodate this.

The successful applicants will receive a comprehensive orientation programme and are assured that they will receive appropriate support.


To provide all aspects of antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to pregnant people and their families in the Sandwell and West Birmingham area.


As a Trust we are proud to have full Baby Friendly accreditation, and a very recent CQC rating of 'good'.


2023 will be an exciting year for us as we transfer our maternity services into our new home - Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.


Some of our community families are also relocating to two new hubs, where they will provide care antenatal and postnatal for women within the area.

As well as developing modern and accessible parent education for all and community support services for those in need of additional care.

'Golden Hello'


If you needed more of a reason to come and join one of the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals community families, we are currently offering a 'Golden Hello' package to all new Community Midwives who are successfully recruited.

This is a £3000 bonus paid over 3 years when you take up a post with one our community families.

In addition to this there is a refer a friend bonus scheme, and supportive developmental leadership and management training for those looking to grow in their careers, and move from band 6 to band 7 level.
