    Senior IT Engineer
    Location: Nottingham

    We are a leading company based in Nottingham, renowned for delivering exceptional IT services and support to diverse clients and internal teams. We seek an experienced Senior IT Technician to join our team and play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, providing technical guidance, and mentoring junior team members.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Provide expert technical assistance for hardware, software, and network issues across the organization or client base.
    2. Lead and manage IT projects, encompassing installations, upgrades, and system migrations.
    3. Monitor and maintain IT systems to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
    4. Troubleshoot complex IT issues and expedite resolution to minimize downtime.
    5. Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring security, backups, and patching are up to date.
    6. Support users with day-to-day IT queries, both remotely and on-site, guaranteeing efficient issue resolution.
    7. Mentor and assist junior IT technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices.
    8. Promote adherence to IT security protocols, including antivirus, firewalls, and VPNs.

    Requirements:

    1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT Technician or IT Support role.
    2. Strong knowledge of networking, hardware, software, and security best practices.
    3. Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
    4. Experience with network configuration, including VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and switches.
    5. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to IT support.
    6. Excellent communication skills, enabling explanation of technical concepts to non-technical users.
