Description

The key responsibilities of the financial accountant are to support the financial controller to maintain balance sheet reconciliations by preparing on monthly basis, understanding the accounts and making corrections if required.

Identify and implementingprocess improvements to increase efficiency. Management and development of finance assistant.

Client Details
Our client is a retailer looking to hire a financial accountant into their growing finance team.

Description
Reconciling the Bank statement to nominal ledger account

Daily reconciliation of main bank account, ensure all transactions are posted in a timely manner and queries resolved by month end.

Reconcile HSBC Invoice Finance

Monthly reconciliation of debt factoring account with nominal ledger.

Reconcile control accounts

Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate and resolve all reconciling items in a timely fashion

Other
Maintaining Fixed asset, including additions, disposals and depreciation/amortisation.
Assisting in annual audit, providing samples and other audit information as required.
Completing ONS surveys
Assisting Financial Controller with ad hoc tasks to support the business
Assisting with key projects i.e Implementation of reconciliation software.
Management and development of finance assistant.
Carry out other duties which fall within reasonable expectations of the role and the Finance Department
Achieve overall department objectives and meet deadline as set

Profile

Extensive finance knowledge
Studying towards ACCA or CIMA
Strong communication skills
Keen attention to detail
