We are actively seeking 2 Retail Assistants to join our team at the thriving Sheffield United store. In this collaborative environment, our team is dedicated to creating exceptional experiences for visitors.


Role Responsibilities:


  • Assisting customers in making purchases of retail merchandise, dealing with all enquiries and correspondence in a polite and effective manner.
  • Encourage upselling and increase productivity.
  • To work together with the wider retail team to maximize retail sales and profitability.
  • Cash handling, cash register operation and being responsible for balancing daily takings.
  • The receipt and dispatch of goods where appropriate.
  • To maintain an excellent level of customer service.
  • To maintain a high level of security with regards to the retail stock and cash, having a working knowledge of all store policies and procedures.
  • To communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute to an effective retail team ethos.
  • Complete online orders for customers where stock is not available in store.
  • Personalisation and printing of shirts.
  • Merchandising all stock to a high standard in line with the store floorplan.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of all retail areas, including the stockroom areas.
  • Assist in the checking of stock and goods in and out where applicable.
  • To support with and carry out stocktaking duties when applicable.
  • Administration duties

  • To adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.
  • To report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club's Safeguarding agenda.
  • To report any concerns of discrimination to the relevant parties and promote a welcoming and inclusive club environment for all.
  • To adhere to the Club's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies, supporting the Club to create an environment which is inclusive and allencompassing.
  • Any other reasonable requests as directed by management.

Essential Criteria for the role:


  • Demonstrated reliability and strong timemanagement skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Honesty and trustworthiness as fundamental attributes.
  • Basic proficiency in Math and English.
  • Fundamental IT knowledge and experience with IT software.

Desirable Criteria for the role:


  • Experience in printing/personalization would be advantageous.
  • Prior retail experience, demonstrating familiarity with industry practices and customer service.
