Reporting directly into the General or Home Manager the Wellbeing Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that meaningful, enjoyable, engaging and stimulating activities are planned, organised, promoted and implemented in the Home for all residents in line with the principles, policies, procedures and best practice guidelines for relationship centred care, clinical care and dementia care.


The Wellbeing Team Lead will motivate, inspire and mobilise team members in the Home to be involved with and engaged in the provision of stimulating activities for the residents.

They will provide information to report on the effectiveness of activities and regularly review, revise and refresh the planned activity opportunities or all residents accordingly.


The Wellbeing Team Lead will lead on development and engagement of the team around activities and occupation whilst ensuring a stimulating environment is created for residents and the teams know how to use this to improve the lived experience.

The Wellbeing Team Lead will ensure the planned activity opportunities meet the needs of all residents involving internal and external activities.

Leadership and Management


Manage the induction and training of the Wellbeing Team Team and volunteers; ensuring training targets are met and team members are competent in their roles.


Be a role model to the whole team in relation to engagement of residents in all areas of care and support the team to provide the right level of occupation and activities to the residents.


Manage rotas and ensure correct team member levels and skill mix within the home on a continual basis of the activity team.

Lead, support, empower and inspire direct reports to deliver outcomes for the home.

  • Overall responsibility for the supervision, appraisal and performance management of the wellbeing team, supporting them to achieve their potential.
  • Lead regular communication with residents, relatives and external stakeholders.
  • Manage activities budgets in liaison with the General Manager.
  • Ensure all reporting is completed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure that all regulatory and statutory requirements are met and company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure any requirements from internal and external audits are actioned within the timescales required.
  • Ensure there is effective communication and preparation of the planned activity opportunities to all interested parties.
  • Ensure that future activities are planned within the homes budgets.
  • To work with the Dementia Lead to promote meaningful activity through life journey information to create positive lived experiences for all residents.
  • To attend bi monthly activity forums.
  • To attend monthly Heads of Department meetings
Activities

  • Develop an innovative seven day a week planned activity opportunities program that are engaging and incorporates the Six Dimensions of Wellness; Social Wellness, Physical Wellness, Emotional Wellness, Sense of purpose, Intellectual Wellness and Spiritual Wellness
  • Ensure that information required for the Home's newsletter that reports on the Home's events and activities of interest (with photography where appropriate), is forwarded to the marketing department within given timescales.
  • Organise and participate in key events held throughout the year
  • Champion relationship centered care empowering residents to continue Social Therapies choice through relationship building with the teams.
  • Ensure the management of records relating to activities are accurate and up to date
  • Lead the teams to produce resident led planned activity of activities
  • Responsible for planning regular reviews with each resident, working with the teams and continuation of lifestyle journey information gathering as a living document.
  • Ensure that events and achievements are communicated to the Marketing team.
  • Building links within the community for the home.
  • Network in the local community to establish a relationship with local businesses, organisations and schools to build and maintain a volunteer base for the whole home. Involve family, team and community volunteers to participate as a regular part of the planned activities opportunities.

  • Attend Senior Team meetings and feedback to other team members.
  • Role model relationship centred care with all team members to empower residents with their lifestyle choices.
  • Responsible for ensuring there is always sufficient equipment and resources available for the team to meaningfully engage and occupy residents, to increase opportunities for meaningful and spontaneous moments.
  • To actively engage with residents in conversation and meaningful occupation related to their lifestyle choices at a level and pace that values the individual and respects their dignity and communication differences.
