Job summary:


  • Key Responsibilities
  • 1) Issuing, amending Import L/C's
  • 2) Advising, amending Export L/C's
  • 3) Standby Letters of Credits
  • 4) First checking of documents over Fifty Thousand Pounds Sterling and deferral of discrepancies.
  • 5) Sole checking of documents under Fifty Thousand Pounds Sterling and deferral of discrepancies
  • 6) Negotiation of documents
  • 7) Preparing of payment
  • 8) Preparation of Advances, Acceptances, Loans, Deposits and Bridge Finance
  • 9) Discounts and foreign exchange deals
  • 10) Inward/Outward collections.
  • 11) BacktoBack Letters of Credits with Structured Trade Finance Transaction.
  • 12) Sending documents "in trust" for Export L/C's.
  • 13) Liaison with client's/Account Managers/Beneficiaries relating to all of the above.
  • 14) Periodic Invoicing & Sundry Tasks
Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities

  • Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the London Compliance manual and Compliance policies and procedures as issued from time to time; Financial Security requirements, including, but not limited to, the prevention of Financial Crime and Fraud including reporting obligations to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.

Academic qualification / Speciality:


  • ESSENTIAL:
  • Minimum requirement
  • Educated to GCSE level which is to include passes in at least English and Mathematics or equivalent.

Experience:


  • ESSENTIAL:
  • Experience in an International first class bank dealing with all aspects of Trade Finance

Required skills:


  • ESSENTIAL:
  • PC literate.
  • Good telephone manner
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to organise their workload
  • Self motivated

Technical skills required:


  • ESSENTIAL:
  • Good working knowledge of all current ICC Literature in respect of Documentary Credits, Collections, Reimbursements and Standby Letters of Credits
  • Good working knowledge of SWIFT, Excel, Word
