Tradewind are looking for an experienced, professional and innovative teacher of Geography to start a maternity contract for a minimum 1 year in a school based in Bethnal Green in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

This academy is a very enjoyable placeto work and benefit from a strong sense of community where staff, students and parents work purposely together and support one another.

This school has been under a period of uncertainty due to a temporary Head teacher but now the governors have appointed a permanent member of staff things are looking to improve so it is a great chance to join them on this exciting new journey.

With severalgreat policies implemented this is sure to be a great experience. This is a school which is smaller than the average-sized secondary school. A high proportion of pupils are from ethnic minority groups. Behaviour of pupils is good a very good new behaviourpolicy is in place. There is a very wide range of extra-curricular activities. Pupils appreciate the opportunities available such as the basketball academy, debating society and external awards. Well-planned programmes provide opportunities for pupils' spiritual,moral, social and cultural development

They are looking for someone to create a stimulating, rich and engaging curriculum to meet the requirements of the individual.

You will encourage student to participate in decision making which will enable them to become responsible and supporting student's development.

They will want you to achieve this by setting targets for pupils which are challenging, particularly for the mostable. There is some effective teaching in the school. This happens why you use your knowledge to select challenging tasks for their pupils. Here, higher expectations of what pupils can achieve and support pupils to improve their learning.

The location of this school is very central in Tower Hamlets. Closet Tube would be Bethnal Green which is inner London. Very accessible to most parts of London

The Head teacher has introduced training for staff. He ensures that the training covers, for example, leading teams effectively and developing better teaching and learning. Teachers, including those who are new to teaching often comment on hoe that the trainingis helpful.

Hold QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification
