Description
Our client is a fast growing, vertically integrated renewable energy company, focused on developing, financing, building, owning and operating large-scale renewable energy projects.
They are a dynamic and entrepreneurial company, comprising of a growing team of highly experienced industry experts.They currently have a grid secured multi-year pipeline of 60+ sites in excess of 10GW and have recently closed a £600m capital raise to build out this pipeline with a leading financial partner.
Due to this, they are actively seeking to recruit a Head of Project Engineering to join their rapidly growing technical team.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineering professionals to support the development, construction, and acquisition of largescale solar and BESS projects, with future expansion into hydrogen and waste to energy
- Serve as a technical expert for all aspects of design for low voltage AC and DC systems
- Oversee key project engineeringworkstreams, which include:
- Technical advisory workstream on new builds and for special projects
- Yield assessment process from earlystage development through to project delivery
- Design optimisation process
- EPC and ICP design review
- Supporting the project delivery team during PAC and FAC processes by leading technical workstreams
- Lead the development and participate in negotiation of key EPC and ICP contract technical appendices including Principle's Requirements, Testing and Commissioning, Technical Documentation, etc.
- Support and lead workstreams related to innovation projects in BESS, hydrogen and other technologies
- Conduct occasional site visits during construction, to ensure projects are built to high standards
- Serve as company expert on key technologies by developing supplier relationships and monitoring trends
- Support EPC tender process through creation of specifications and reviewing responses
Requirements:
years of experience in renewables, ideally in development and construction
- Degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Deep understanding of solar, BESS (preferable), and LV system design and construction, including applicable British and international standards
- Working knowledge of HV system design and equipment
- Well versed in working with Technical Advisors for project delivery, ideally holding relationships with leading companies
- Experience leading a team of highperforming engineers
- Hold relationships with key ICP and EPC contractors and equipment suppliers
- Forward thinking, a problem solver and solution provider
- Able to promote a positive working culture within the team
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Process focused with ability and drive to develop key processes for design, commissioning and construction
