Job Description:


LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT


As Talent Business Partner (TBP), you will report to the Talent Manager and work alongside the wider People & Talent/regional leadership team to lead the learning and development offer across your region.

Central to their continued growth and success, you will draw on your expertise to identify individual and region-wide development needs and implement creative, effective interventions which align with DPD strategy and deliver the required results.

The impact you have will be achieved through your 'hands-on', proactive approach and the effective, collaborative relationships you build with stakeholders at all levels.

You will also be a role model for the DPD 'DNA' - Honesty, Respect, Hard Work, Accountability, Passion and Flexibility.

To maximise the potential of their region a Talent Business Partner will:

  • Analyse learner behaviours and operational performance in order to accurately identify training and development needs
  • Identify appropriate in/external learning intervention(s) needed to best meet learner and business needs
  • Design a range of innovative, blended leadership and personal development learning solutions, i.e., digital/social learning, classroom, virtual & experiential)
  • Drive individual and regional growth through the design of the impactful PDPs needed to deliver succession plans
  • Enrich the learner's experience by drawing on a range of in/external resources to maximise relevance, engagement and results
  • Confidently facilitate learning whether delivered in person or online, onetoone or large groups, with audiences at all levels of the organisation
  • Deliver the central Talent offer, with the ability to adapt it to regional priorities while maintaining the overall DPD Talent strategy
  • Proactively seek the feedback and data needed to evaluate the effectiveness and ensure the continuous improvement of DPD's Talent provision, at Kirkpatrick's 'Four Levels'
  • Support the personal and professional development of your region's leadership team through coaching and advice/consultation, as required
  • Maximise the use of the learning management system in order to deliver, record and report on learning

Qualifications:

The personal skills and qualities that enable you to be an effective Talent Business Partner are likely to include:

  • A laser-guided focus on learner/customer needs, using them as a basis for decisions and recommendations
  • Being a role model for learning, demonstrating a growth mindset at all times
  • An ability to think creatively in order to adapt to changing priorities or learner needs
  • A planned and organised approach that ensures tasks and projects are delivered as required
  • Being selfmotivated and comfortable with working autonomously and also as part of a team
  • The exceptional interpersonal and communication skills needed to build solid relationships, influence and engage with stakeholders across DPD
  • A CIPD Level 5 qualification in learning or organisational development
Also desirable is experience of or qualifications in

  • A 'campaignbased' approach to learning, including a wider comms and engagement approach
  • Designing learning that is accessible to learners with a range of physical/neurodiversity needs
  • The authoring of digital learning content and/or LMS administration
  • Psychometric and profiling/analysis e.g., Colour Insights, SDI or MGI
  • Professional coaching/mentoring
  • Crossteam/department project management
  • Graduate and apprenticeship schemes
Additional Information

You may find it useful to know that

We offer hybrid working, with 3-days on site and two days from home.

While we broadly work to a 'Monday-Friday/9am-5pm' working pattern, your learners may need you outside of these hours and so some flexibility will be required.

The region you cover would include depots, across the Lancashire, Midland & Yorkshire region(s).
