This role has a starting salary of £26,569 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.


Please note, this vacancy is a fixed term contract for 9 months, covering for someone who will be on maternity leave.

We do not have an exact return date from the current post-holder and the fixed term contract will end on their return.

Our Children, Families & Learning School Admissions Team are looking for a full time
Admissions Support Officer to work in this varied and interesting role based in our Woking office.


As part of the School Admissions team, you will report to the Senior Admissions Systems Officer to help develop and support systems and processes within the team.

This role is open to
remote working, which means that if you choose to, you won't normally be required in the office 5 days a week, although there will be times when office working will be required for this post.

A laptop will be supplied.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for this role, along with a high level of written and oral communication skills.

You will have experience of working with confidential information in a customer focused environment and have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.


Key tasks that you will complete within this role will include:

  • administration of the consultation and determination of admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools
- tracking and checking of consultations and determinations of admission arrangements for own admission authority schools
- preparation of the annual school admission literature that is published for parents
- regular review and updating of the admission pages on Surrey's website, online systems and Surrey Education Services Hub
- helping to develop and support systems and processes within the team
- answering and making telephone calls from/to schools, as required
- experience of working under pressure to meet a deadline
- be able to work constructively and flexibly as part of a team
- confident, organised and able to implement a proactive approach to your work
- outstanding accuracy and attention to detail
- customer service and communication skills both verbal and written
- proactiveness and adaptability
- good IT skills, including Word and Excel and experience of using database management systems to a high standard of accuracy
