Temporary Admin Officer - Parks

Pay rate £13.59 per hour PAYE

This opening assignment is for 5 months Assist in the provision of a range of high quality, customer focussed; administrative, business support and financial services for Parks Estates and Open Spaces Management and Service.

These Services include but are not limited to:
bereavement services, sports and events, allotments, playgrounds, finance and procurement, and human resources Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with the effective utilisation of resources and ensure that the business support services delivered are of a high standard and meet the needs of an essential front-line Service. Ensure the activities of the Service are effectively provided and that high quality standards are maintained in line with ISO, Green Flag and Charter for the Bereaved accreditation.
  • Assist with the monitoring of income receipts in respect of external debts and contact Customers to discuss accounts and instigate appropriate recovery action.
  • In conjunction with the Parks Business Support & Finance management, assist with the cost effective procedures for the procurement of supplies and materials, complying with Council Standing Orders and Regulations.
  • Assist with the Cemeteries Service administrative duties including; an efficient, caring and sympathetic service to bereaved people and related stakeholders. Ensure all administrative procedures are in accordance with current legislation, industry standards and codes of practice. Maintain effective links with the Cemeteries Manager, Supervisors and Operational Staff on day to day issues, including effective links and appropriate joint working between the Cemeteries and Crematorium Services.
  • Assist with the Allotment Service administrative duties in accordance to current legislation: including the administration of the rental income and the auditing of vacant plots. Assist Parks Business Support & Finance management to organise all repairs to the sites for which the Council is responsible.
  • Assist with the Councils Sports Lettings administrative duties; maintaining the booking and payment system and liaising with Operational Managers to ensure facilities are appropriately prepared.

Assist Parks Business Support & Finance management to:
promote and market the facilities; and oversee hire arrangements.

  • Assist in the efficient and effective management of Human Resource systems including iTrent, Payroll and Attendance Management for the Service.
  • Flexibility to attend events/emergencies and deliver Parks Estates and Open Spaces Service outside standard hours to ensure that services provided are responsive to customer/client needs.
  • To carry out any additional duties not listed above that are commensurate with the grade of the post, as allocated by the Parks Business Support & Finance Manager
