Description
We currently recruiting for a Switchboard Operator to join Coventry University Group on a 3-month part-time temporary contract.

The main purpose of the role is to a professional switchboard service for callers, ensuring that all calls are dealt with efficiently,expeditiously and helpfully, such that all caller needs are met and appropriate information provided.

This includes maintaining telephone records, and may also involve carrying out any appropriate administrative or maintenance work associated with managing the switchboard services in order to maintain an efficient and effective service, working with other membersof the Switchboard and Reception teams to provide the best possible customer service and other such duties within the scope and spirit of the role.


  • Have a good general education, including GCSE or equivalent in English Language
  • Have excellent customer service skills within a busy environment
  • Have good oral and written communication skills, including an excellent telephone manner and customer focused approach, as well as switchboard and telephone skills and experience
  • Be able to relate to people with courtesy and professionalism, using good listening skills
  • Be flexible in their working hours, able to provide cover and support to the team on rare occasions as and when required

The roles will be based on campus in Coventry city centre, with usual working hours of 12:30pm to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
