Post Pharmacy Delivery Driver - Part Time (Friday 1.30 to 4.30pm)

Reports to Pharmacist

Hours 3 hours per week and flexibility to cover holidays and sickness

Hourly Rate £11.44

Main purpose of the role
Delivering pharmaceutical products, including prescription medication, to the patient's home address / Care Home.

The role of the pharmacy delivery driver is key in the service provided in local communities.

The post holder will be responsible for not only handling important medicines but also guaranteeing the timely delivery of it and ensure patient care and safety is maintained.

To many of our customers you will be the face of the organisation so you will ensure you act in a professional manner and you will build strong relationships with our customers, some of whom may be vulnerable.

You will be expected to always act with discretion whilst also knowing when to raise concerns with your pharmacist

Primary responsibilities
To ensure a positive image of the company is maintained at all time

To ensure deliveries are made to all customers on time

To ensure all customers are treated sensitively and courteously

To ensure patient confidentiality and GDPR is adhered to at all times

To ensure all prescriptions in your care are stored safely and in line with instruction

Maintain appropriate records

Ensure your vehicle is road worthy and kept in a clean and presentable manner

Drive safely, responsibly and within the law

Any other duties as requested

Person specification
Well groomed and presentable.

Level 2:
Equivalent for delivery drivers

Knowledge of local area

Strong communication and excellent customer service skills

Trustworthy and understanding of confidentiality issues

Professional, tactful and friendly attitude

Excellent team working skill

Commitment to continuing professional development and training

Be physically fit as there is some heavy lifting as well as the requirement to climb in/out vehicle multiple times in a day

Ability to drive Longer distances and sit for long periods of time
