As the Canal Site Supervisor you will plan, manage and deliver a range of projects to restore and maintain the Cotswold Canals. Reporting to the Cotswold Canals Trust Operations Director you will lead and manage a team of volunteers and co-ordinate the equipment and materials required for each project. Volunteers will range in skills and experience, so you will need to have good communication and inter-personal skills to inspire and motivate your team. You will require previous experience as a Site Supervisor and have ideally worked with volunteers. Project tasks will range from towpath construction and maintenance, vegetation clearance and tree felling to lock restoration. This is a practical, hands on, outdoors role with all of the activities happening along the canal corridor from Saul Junction to Brimscombe Port.

Responsibilities will include:

Site supervision and leadership of volunteer teams.
Operate in full compliance with Health & Safety and other regulations and policies.
Comply with the relevant agreed designs and standards of workmanship required.
Planning and coordination of work activities, materials and equipment via the CCT Operations Director.
Work with other teams and plan with other canal Team Leaders to be flexible in providing cover for supervision of other volunteers during periods of holiday or absence.
Communications, inspiration and motivation of volunteers to create a happy, loyal and committed team
Encourage volunteer involvement and commitment to the longterm maintenance of the Cotswold Canals
Write and present reports to the CCT Operations Director and the Health & Safety Committee
