We are looking for Casual Best Interest Assessors who are Human Rights focused, to work in our busy, developing and highly regarded Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Team.

The MCA/DoLS service sits in the Practice Team in North Yorkshire, leading developments in practice relating to the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards providing county wide support.


We are looking for a passionate, Human Rights based, qualified practitioners (Nurse, OT, Social Worker) with at least two years' experience and who hold an additional active qualification as a Best Interests Assessor.


You will be undertaking assessments as part of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards process for people who are supported by North Yorkshire in care homes and hospitals across the country.

You will be allocated Best Interest Assessments to complete on an agreed basis. These assessments will need to take place in person and will cover North Yorkshire. We also welcome applicants who are able to complete assessments outside of this region.

We provide extensive health and wellbeing support for all our staff and offer continuous development and training.
