An exciting opportunity has become available within the integrated Alder Hey and Liverpool Heart and Chest Digital Service.

We are looking for a talented, highly motivated Digital Transformation Lead to work across both Trusts, running a broad range of large-scale programmes that form both organisations Digital Strategies.


The Digital Transformation Lead will be responsible for the planning, delivery and benefits realisation of a broad range of complex projects that form the digital strategies at both Alder Hey and Liverpool Heart and Chest.


Main duties of the role include:

  • To be responsible for the initiation, ongoing management and delivery of the workstreams and programmes that comprise both Digital Excellence (LHCH) and Digtial and Data Futures (Alder Hey) strategies
  • Ensure Programmes and Projects are delivered on time, to quality standards and in a cost effective manner, making recommendations to adjust plans as required
  • Ensure Benefits Realisation is a consistent component of all areas of Digital Transformation
  • Highlight exceptions and risks ensuring mitigating action can be taken to keep the programme on track.
  • Prepare programme reports and briefings for Trust Board, Trust Directors and stakeholders inc NHS England and NHS Digital
  • Coordinate agenda and content for Digital Board meetings ensuring strong governance
  • To contribute to the improvement of the local, national and global health and social care economies via the Alder Hey Digitisation Programme
  • Work with team and partners as appropriate using professional programme, project and change management skills.
  • Responsible for supporting the commissioning of projects and procurement of services to support project delivery.

  • Be responsible for effective liaison and partnership working with the Trust's clinical and nonclinical staff to ensure delivery of the programme
  • Communicate and provide highly complex technical information to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Nurture key relationships and maintain networks internally and externally to ensure goals of the programme are met.
  • Support collaborative working across the Trust, its suppliers and GDE partners where needed.
  • Be responsible for coordinating site visits to the Trust to share experiences and lessons learnt.
  • To support the identification and sharing of best practice in all areas of the programme.
  • Collate as required, qualitative and quantitative information and lead appropriate analysis to develop robust business cases and contribute to project 'products'.
  • Analyse, interpret and present data to highlight issues, risks and support decision making.
  • Plan, develop and evaluate methods and processes for gathering, analysing, interpreting and presenting data and information
  • Deliver projects to comply with key performance indicators.
  • To identify and disseminate global best practice to encourage adoption of novel technologies, tools and techniques.
  • Support the portfolio of projects in demonstrating value for money for the current spend through overseeing the tracking, managing and delivering agreed benefits.
  • Responsible for matching the available budget for each workstream to the appropriate staff resources and projects and for ensuring that the budget breaks even. Coordinate the budget, monitoring expenditure against target areas.
