About the role


The services we design are integral to our customers' lives, and this role focuses on their entire experience - at every stage, across all touchpoints.

You'll see designs through every stage of the process, from concept through to production.

It's an amazing opportunity to shape the way we engage and build relationships with our customers, support their needs and get them the right products.


You'll lead a multidisciplinary team of Experience Designers and/or act as a senior contributor across one of our Platform Teams within the Insurance Pensions and Investments business.

We're looking for someone who can inspire and lead designers to be creative, ensure customer is at the heart, and help others succeed through mentoring and by sharing your knowledge.

To succeed in this role, you should be able to think critically and build strong relationships. You will shape and deliver customer experiences working with data analysts, behavioural scientists and other specialist roles.

You'll be responsible for strategy formation, concept development and design delivery, partnering with product owners, business analysts, engineers and senior leaders to see ideas through to implementation.


You'll make a difference when you:

  • Take responsibility for shaping and implementing the design strategy and customer experience across one of our Platforms.
  • Work with research teams across the organisation to better understand the needs of businesses from the smallest business to the largest financial institutions.
  • Understand design goals and challenges in the context of our business and engineering priorities, and drive a balanced outcome.
  • Ensure customer value is central to decision-making from shaping of the proposition to embedding measurement into journey design.
  • Collaborate with Designers across other areas to ensure design and delivery of a joined-up experience.
  • Develop strong relationships with senior leaders to enable strategic influence of future customer experience design.
  • Mentor and coach Designers within the platform and build a strong culture of collaboration.
About you;- Ability to navigate organisational complexity- Hands on leadership and people management expertise- Understanding of the various design fields: Design Research, Service Design, Interaction Design and Conversation Design- Ability to guide and critically challenge the team when needed and be an advocate for design- Proven ability to solve complex problems- Capacity for design critique, including receiving and giving feedback to colleagues
