Your New Role:


We have a fantastic opportunity for a Carbon & Climate Change Business Partner to join our Group - Strategy Team based in either the South East or Midlands.

This is a full time, permanent opportunity that offers hybrid working.


The Carbon and Climate Change Business Partner plays an important part role and will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to reduce our company's carbon emissions, tracking our progress towards our sustainability goals, and communicating our progress to both internal and external stakeholders.


The standard hours of work are 37.5 hours, Monday - Friday.

You will be responsible for:


  • Developing and implementing a carbon reduction strategy for the company to reduce our carbon footprint
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive inventory of the company's greenhouse gas emissions across all operations
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for carbon reductions across the company's operations, including in construction, transportation, and energy use.
  • Working with internal teams to implement best practices and policies to reduce emissions, including encouraging energy efficiency, promoting sustainable procurement practices,
  • Monitoring and reporting on the company's progress towards our carbon reduction goals, using established metrics and benchmarks.
  • Working with external stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and regulators, to ensure compliance with relevant carbon reduction regulations and standards
  • Communicating the company's carbon reduction progress to internal and external stakeholders, including through sustainability reports, presentations, and other materials.

What makes this role unique is that you will be responsible for overseeing the corporate carbon/climate change for a business if circa 11,000 employees, with annual revenues of circa £1.5 - £2bn.


We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of carbon management principles, including carbon accounting and carbon reduction strategies.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills and the ability to analyse complex data and develop actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Extensive experience of working in Carbon management and sustainability

Technical Competencies:


  • Must have knowledge, understanding and experience with reporting standards such as ISO 14064,
  • Must have knowledge, understanding and experience and understanding in completing CDP, TCFD, SBTi, ESOS
  • Ideally insight and experience in PAS 2080
  • Knowledge, understand and experience working with sustainability standards and reporting frameworks, such as GRI or CDP, is a plus
  • Bachelors degree or Masters in relevant field such as Carbon, sustainability or engineering
