Description
We are looking for a
corporate affairs specialist to join our External Relations team.
This role can be based in Aberdeen or London or remotely in Edinburgh.

Your key responsibilities will be to drive support and co-ordinate meaningful engagement with industry partners, think tanks, academics, regional bodies and NGOs across civil society across the UK.

You will also support the External Affairs team in monitoring of, and coordinated responses to, political developments pertinent to the industry across UK Parliaments and Government.


Key accountabilities

  • Assist in the effective delivery of External Affairs strategies and campaigns
  • Develop and deepen contacts across the full spectrum of OEUK stakeholders
  • Deliver a programme of regional activity across the UK
  • Employ appropriate tactics for effective, regular engagement
  • Create high quality, accurate content for briefing materials, consultation responses, policy position papers
  • Support formal policy consultations
  • Facilitate private meetings and other events for members and stakeholders


As a member of the organisation you will work collaboratively across OEUK and our members to provide exceptional UK political expertise.


Skills and Attributes

  • Experience of delivering advocacy and engagement programmes
  • An interest in energy and economic issues in general and the oil and gas industry in particular
  • Experience of working in partnership with peers and stakeholders at all levels to facilitate effective decisionmaking and issues management, to mutual success
  • Understanding of the external political environment and political developments
  • Sound analytical and factfinding skills, and ability to identify and understand key issues
  • Ability to present complex information in a way that is straightforward to understand, whether in writing or verbally
  • Experience of writing high quality copy and content to meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure, meeting deadlines with tight schedules
  • Resultsdriven, equally comfortable and experienced at working strategically or operationally to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Demonstrates high personal standards of ethical behaviour and professionalism, aligned to company values
  • A creative mind partnered with the ability to find the best practical solutions
