Mosaic Jewish Community has opened its brand-new Synagogue in Stanmore.

It is a unique concept of providing religious services and community facilities for three different strands of Judaism - Reform, Masorti and Liberal - under one umbrella.

We are now looking to recruit an experienced caretaker to undertake occasional shifts, mainly during the week but with the possibility of weekends also.

Key duties will be the security of the building and its occupants, site management (including preparing the building for activities, cleaning and simple maintenance and repairs) and health and safety requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity to make your mark in a new building, ensuring all caretaking needs required for the community are managed to a high standard.

For that reason we are looking for someone who has good communication skills, can use their initiative, is able to define what needs to be done rather than being told, is self-motivated, a great trouble shooter and problem solver, is highly practical with excellent attention to detail and takes pride in seeing a job done well.

Other requirements include:

• Previous experience of working as a caretaker
• Ability to lift objects up to 25kg
• Good DIY skills
• Basic level IT skills
• Fluent English skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing

The role is to work on occasional shifts during the weekend and possibly weekends with hours up to 20 hours per month.

Hourly rate is £11.95 per hour.
