The Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity at the Royal Victoria Infirmary Catering Department for a Full time Cook.

This position is to work in the RVI Catering Department preparing food as part of our existing busy catering team cooking for patients and staff working full time 37.

5 hours a week on a 3 week rotational cycle working 2 weekends in 3


You must be able to work on your own initiative and prioritize your workload throughout the day and work under pressure at times.

This position will require you to work bank holidays at times commensurate to the needs of the department.
Interview Date: 28th March 202- 37 Hours 30 Minutes per a week

As a Cook the role will involve the following duties

  • Preparation of food for both Patients and Staff in accordance with relevant menus to be served throughout the day 7 days a week
  • Ensuring correct use of standard recipes at all times
  • Effective Stock rotation.
  • Ensuring allergen information is correct for all products recipes and dishes
  • Working with the Head cook and Patient Services and Bistro supervisor.
  • Ensuring Food Waste is reduced to lowest level possible
  • Completing paperwork in line with the departments Food Safety Management (HACCP) systems
  • General cleaning of work area.
  • Following health and Hygiene regulations.
