Description

This is a key role within the team supporting the delivery of quality & safety outcomes for specifically in relation to the delivery of the 30 day response target and the management of informal enquiries within 48 hours.


  • Provides a first line and primary contact to patients and families for informal enquires received at Morriston Hospital, within 48 hours.
  • Provides a first line and primary contact for all formal concerns where there are allegations of minor or no harm, within 30 day response times.
  • Provides support to Band 6 and Band 7 with regards to the investigation of significant events (Amber/Red) ensuring that responses are accurate, robust and in line with NHS Wales "Putting Things Right" Regulations.
  • Supports the delivery of the wider quality & safety agenda as part of the health Board's quality priorities and Health & Care Standards framework including risk management.


To be a key member of the Quality & Safety Team in supporting the Unit Head of Quality & Safety in the management of concerns, incidents, risk, claims and alerts.

To be first point of contact for enquiries to the Morriston Hospital Quality & Safety Team.


To provide an efficient and comprehensive complaints and incident handling and management service to front line staff within the appropriate time frame, ensuring that progress is actively recorded and monitored using the Datix system.


To advise and educate staff on All Wales Putting Things Right (PTR) Regulations in accordance with Health Board policies and procedures ensuring full understanding of Datix processes and procedures.

To undertake activities in support of the Health Board's and Unit's quality & safety priorities
