Description

The Executive Assistant (EA) to the Executive Director for Development and Alumni Relations (ED) is a key member of the executive administration team for the University Development and Alumni Relations office (DAR).

They are responsible for managing diary, meeting and related activities to ensure efficient and effective support for the ED, and fundraising and alumni relations initiatives.

The role holder is responsible for managing the ED's diary, meeting preparation and all related details.

The EA is a member of the Executive Office team and will work collaboratively with the Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff to ensure that all the needs of the Executive team are met on a daily basis.


The EA is responsible for supporting the Chief of Staff in carrying out delegated tasks, supporting efficient meetings, assembling agendas and follow-up actions.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the Executive team are supported at all times including covering when colleagues are absent.
  • Use reasoned judgement and common sense in carrying out all duties.
  • The role requires a high level of discretion, tact, initiative and independence of action as well as the ability/willingness to make decisions on nonroutine matters but mindful of the need to refer.
  • The role requires the ability to remain calm under pressure and to be able to assess the many competing priorities in an often extremely busy environment.
  • Any other tasks that fall within the remit of the post.
  • Provide direction and advice to other PAs across the office acting as a sounding board and conduit for problem solving with senior management.
  • Assist with the induction of administrative personnel, in conjunction with the Deputy Chief of Staff.
  • Any other tasks that fall within the remit of the post.

Salary:
£30,502.00-£36,386.00 per year

  • Monday to Friday
