Black Country Women's Aid (BCWA) is an established charity that provides a range of specialist abuse support services to women, men and children across the Black Country.

Our holistic, trauma-informed support enables victims to escape violence and abuse,cope with trauma, build resilience and establish life after abuse.

Our successful accommodation service continues to expand as demand for services increases and new areas identified. The accommodation support service has an outstanding reputation with its partners. The Accommodation Services Directorate manages 71 units ofaccommodation.
Black Country Women's Aid Accommodation Services include;

  • 24hr access refuge accommodation for victims of domestic abuse (women and children only)
  • Dispersed accommodation for victims of domestic abuse accommodation includes house in multiple occupation, blocks of flats and individual flats across the borough (women, children, male victims)
  • Resettlement Support post departure from domestic abuse accommodation services
  • Access to BCWA Victim Safety Adviser post departure from domestic abuse accommodation services
  • Access to BCWA community services group activity
  • Safe house for victims of modernday slavery in the National referral mechanism (women and children only.)
  • Dispersed accommodation for victims of modernday slavery in the national referral mechanism accommodation includes house in multiple accommodation, groups of flats and individual accommodation across the borough. (women, children, male victims)
  • Access to Counselling Services (part of BCWA Community services)
Job role

Job Title:
Family Support Worker (Accommodation Services)
Positions available: 1 full-time position, flexible shift basis; 10 am-6 pm 4 days per week, 9 am-5 pm 1 day per week; (can be flexible with days)


Salary:
£20,849 - £22,099

Location:
Sandwell. This role is directly supporting clients living within BCWA residential sites. You will be located and visible at a residential site supporting clients living within BCWA accommodation services. This position is not eligible for Hybrid working.

Is this you?

We are looking for a compassionate and organised individual to undertake our brand-new Family Support Worker role.

The post holder will support clients and their children based within our refuge accommodation and raise awareness of the impact of domesticabuse on the family.


The role:


You will be based within our domestic abuse refuge accommodation as an integral part of the support offered to victims and children who have fled abuse.

As part of the role, you will raise awareness of the impact that domestic abuse has on family dynamics andthe challenges that are faced by adult victims in protecting their children from abuse.

You will work with the client, their children and their Domestic Abuse Intervention Support Worker to develop and agree an appropriate support plan for the family, promotingwelfare and development.
