The role?

Your main duties as a Mechanical Fitter will involve:

Read/Interpret Mechanical Drawings and Guidance.
Install and maintain various types of Mechanical Equipment such as: Main and Aux engines (gas and diesel), Rudders, Shaft lines and associated equipment, Stabilisers, Pumps and valves.
Fault diagnosis and defect rectification.
Carry out detailed inspections and be fully conversant in the use of all measuring equipment.
Understand and follow written and/or oral instructions
Understand and follow health & safety arrangements
Carry out a Trade specific Take 5 plus 5 dynamic risk assessment before every task.
Ensure safe systems of work are carried out and report all accidents, incidents and near misses via the appropriate reporting tool.
Ensure all tools and equipment being used are suitable and in date for any inspection required.
Demonstrate the importance of meeting time, cost and quality requirements by always striving to achieve and exceed them.
Understand the financial and quality impact of your work.
