Key Accountabilities

  • To ensure Rykneld Homes is compliant with relevant legislation and is working in adherence to the Electricity at Work Regulations, IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671), Building Regulations, CDM Regulations and relevant H&S legislation.
  • To provide recommendations for the adoption of new materials, equipment and specifications for all electrical works to stock managed by Rykneld Homes. This should include the adoption of new technologies to meet the current and future needs of customers and the housing stock.
  • To undertake quality assurance checks for works being completed by inhouse staff and contractors ensuring that all works are compliant and to the required standards and specifications.
  • To undertake detailed technical assessments, involving the internal inspection of electrical systems, testing of installations and where required provide written reports on the findings.
  • To provide technical support, advice and guidance on works, both verbally and in writing to operatives and contractors to support compliance.
  • To assist in the preparation of quality assurance and handover procedures to be used with inhouse staff and contractors.
  • To verify that all contractors work is completed to the required specifications and is in full compliance with the relevant regulations prior to confirming that any invoice for electrical works is suitable for payment.
  • To ensure that all preworks surveys and electrical works are carried out in a professional and customer friendly manner to ensure that customers are involved and communicated with in an effective manner.
  • To ensure that the full extent of work and likely disturbance to the customer and the property is explained to them and where required arrange for additional support from the Customer Liaison team to be provided.
  • To liaise with RHL Staff, contractors and RHL customers with regard to completing electrical rewiring work efficiently and to RHL specifications.
