Stephen James Consulting are looking to recruit a Sales Consultant for a growing elderly care provider, this newly created role will be based in Horsham, West Sussex.


You will be Responsible for:


  • Developing and delivering the sale strategy for a cluster of care homes, with a particular commercial focus on private pay market.
  • Maximising sales opportunities which achieve revenue growth, ensuring monthly and annual enquiry, conversion and occupancy targets are met and delivering excellence in managing the customer journey for those seeking care.
  • You will closely work with the Home Manager(s) to build the level of sales skills within their teams so that they are able to develop, manage and convert sales enquiries efficiently and professionally to achieve their sales targets.
  • Able to provide local business development support to the Home Manager(s), taking responsibility for developing and implementing the local sales and marketing plan to drive private pay enquiries of the right care type into the home.
  • To enable the home(s) to deliver occupancy and average weekly fee (AWF) targets, you will help the home teams to: understand and deliver exceptional service throughout the customer journey; develop strong relationships and network with healthcare professionals and other relevant organisations; maintain efficient and effective CRM and reporting systems; and increase the brand awareness and positioning of the home(s) within the local community.

Criteria for the Operations Manager opportunity:

  • Educated to GCSE level in English and Maths (essential). A Levels and a degree are desirable
  • At least two years' experience of sales enquiry generation and managing the sales pipeline, working within a targetdriven environment (essential)
  • Customer service background (essential)
  • Care sector experience (desirable)
  • Demonstrable experience of building trusting, collaborative relationships with the public and professionals
  • Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with people and build relationships
  • Excellent communication skills and an inspirational and impactful communication style
  • A selfstarter approach to achieving sales targets, with the commercial awareness to deliver financial targets
  • Proficient in using social media and IT (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Targetdriven and adaptable with the ability to try different ways to get a successful outcome
  • Able to work collaboratively and in partnership with stakeholder/community organisations.
