An exciting opportunity has arisen within Nottinghamshire Police for the post of Prevention Team Researcher on a temporary contract until March 2025.

This post works alongside the Prevention Team Analyst to identify emerging or changing threats, risks and harms in key crime and ASB areas.


This will include the production of management information data, producing detailed research profiles, attending thematic meetings, taking responsibility for workstreams, and producing ad-hoc work and products as required.

This work will be at the heart of police and partner aspirations to reduce crime and make Nottinghamshire safer.

You will be adept at researching, collating and evaluating information as well as being a skilled report writer.

You will be a proactive self-starter who is capable of effective communication with internal and external officers of all levels.


Skilled in the use of computer based systems, you will have good knowledge and experience of using databases, information processing and presentation software.


Successful applicants will be required to proactively form productive and supportive relationships with key partners, including members of Community Safety Partnerships and the Crime & Drugs Partnership.

There will be a need to travel to meet these key partners.

The post holder will be required to work in a confidential environment and be vetted to Management Level. High levels of integrity and attention to detail are essential for the role.
