As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Workshop Controller who shares our dedication to driving technician efficiencies and maintaining high standards.


Role Overview:
As a Workshop Controller, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our Milton Keynes site.

Reporting directly to the Aftersales Manager, you will be responsible for optimising technician performance, managing work in progress, and fostering the growth and development of our technician team.


Key Responsibilities:

Technician Efficiency: Utilise your expert knowledge to enhance technician productivity and performance across a team of 14 skilled professionals. Implement strategies to streamline processes and ensure timely completion of work.

Work in Progress: Maintain meticulous control over work in progress, ensuring seamless coordination between parts, scheduling, and technician availability. Work with the front-of-house team to keep customers updated on the status of their vehicles.

Team Development: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by coaching and developing technicians. Identify training opportunities, set performance goals, and provide regular feedback to help the team reach their full potential.

Organisation: Demonstrate your exceptional organisational skills by effectively managing work through the workshop, allocating resources, and prioritising tasks to meet deadlines and exceed customer expectations.

Drive and Passion: Infuse your role with enthusiasm and a results-driven approach. Lead by example, inspiring your team to take ownership of their responsibilities and strive for excellence.


Requirements:


  • Proven experience in an automotive workshop environment, with a strong understanding of technician operations and best practices.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities, with the capacity to motivate and develop a diverse team of technicians.
  • Resultsoriented mindset with the ability to drive efficiencies and optimise processes.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members, customers, and management.
  • Full UK driving license.
