This is your chance to make a real difference in helping to improve the environment The Wear Rivers Trust is taking a leading role in tackling global environmental challenges at a local scale.

We are committed to protecting and improving our land and water, urban and rural environments from the North Pennine peatlands to our coastal waters.

Due to our existing PSO progressing to Project Officer, the Trust is now strengthening its capacity to deliver practical projects in the field through the recruitment of a Project Support Officer.

This is a great opportunity to fit into an enthusiastic innovative team, working with volunteers, all sections of the community and partner organisations.

Our current projects include tackling invasive species, riparian tree planting, arable and grassland soil management, sustainable drainage and physical river improvements.

Working with schools, supporting the environmental education of the next generation is a key priority, as is growing and developing our volunteer capacity to undertake more practical conservation.

The River Wear and its tributaries flow through the picturesque semi-rural county of Durham, a mixture of beautiful unspoilt uplands, UNESCO World Heritage listed Durham City and smaller towns and villages.

Employee benefits are summarised on the attached infographic.
