Description

We are looking to appoint an Operational Coordinator with relevant band 7 experience to lead the midwifery team with a helicopter view of all midwifery settings.

Strong leadership and communication skills at operational level are vital to ensure the MDT team are supported and empowered to provide care that is both safe and responsive to women and babies.


Midwifery by nature is unpredictable, leading to activity and acuity levels that are both fluid and transient. As a result, the maternity workforce is required to be responsive to these ever-changing service demands. The operational coordinator remains responsible for the effective redeployment of staff to ensure that women are receiving care by the right person, in the right place at the right time.

The successful applicant will become fully inclusive of the existing operational coordination team with responsibilities to mirror those individuals following a period of training.
