The Induction Support Tutor will support the co-ordination and administration of Pharmacy Learners onto the Level 2 Pharmacy Service Assistant Apprenticeship.


To improve the life outcomes for learners by providing a wide range of pastoral and welfare support to learners and their families to overcome the barriers to participating in education.


To help identify and monitor vulnerable and 'at risk' learners under remit and work closely with Tutors, Development Coaches and Business Development Team members.


Hybrid - The post holder will be required to work both remote and from the Oldham Office, but we may require the post holder to travel throughout the UK and more frequently to Head Office in Huddersfield.


Duties
You will work as part of the Pharmacy Team supporting the delivery of key learning objectives.

You will be responsible for the facilitation and delivery of new starter induction training programmes for learners across all Pharmacy courses.


  • Support with the build and maintenance of the training schedule to ensure course dates, invitations, joining instructions, precourse work and supporting material are all available for learners and trainers.
  • Assist with the coordination of onetoone induction training sessions and organise additional resources to facilitate training programmes, where required.
  • Effectively communicate with learners, employers, Business Development and Tutors.
  • Support with the generation of reports on all learning activity to track all attendance and nonattendance for training.
  • Liaise with external training suppliers to support and arrange the logistics for the delivery of training.
  • Weekly management of attendance tracking and the completion or any online resources.
  • Support with the rollout of evaluations following training courses.
  • Design, produce and send succinct and informative communications to training attendees.
  • Help identify and assess the training needs of learners using diagnostic tools, CognAssist and BKSB and Skill Scan.
  • Support with providing pastoral and learning support to all learners on program, liaising with individual skills tutors and development coaches, in response to concerns raised using auditable documentation.
  • Help foster a businesswide culture of learner engagement and success.
  • Maintain high levels of employer satisfaction and feedback scores.
  • Provide front line support and advice on pastoral, social, welfare and health care and remove barriers to completion of learning.
  • Develop a positive and supportive connection with learners, create an atmosphere of trust and support, prioritising the safeguarding and wellbeing of all students.
  • Support the delivery of the Health and Wellbeing Strategy including providing first point of contact for learners experiencing poor mental health, able to signpost to partners skilled in providing dedicated support.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults and refer to the safeguarding team where appropriate.
  • Work closely with curriculum teams to support at risk and vulnerable learners
  • Ensure learners vulnerabilities and support needs are recorded and highlighted
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions.
  • Build and maintain supportive relationships to assist in the personal and social development and providing support and guidance as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the Safeguarding Team to ensure that safeguarding disclosers are dealt with effectively
  • Listen to and support learners to resolve a range of issues that create barriers to learning.
  • Liaise with the curriculum management team, safeguarding team, tutors and development coaches on pastoral and welfare concerns impact on retention and attendance.
  • Undertake training as required for the role
  • Any other duties, of a similar level of responsibility, as may be required

Qualifications

  • GCSE Level A
  • C or equivalent in Maths and English, Dual Science and IT
  • Level 3 PTTLS qualification or willing to undertake once in post

Experience & Skills

  • Demonstrable knowledge of Pharmacy Apprenticeships
  • Experience of working with HR/Learning platforms and systems preferable but not essential
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
  • Able to conduct presentations, online web demos, and the ability to learn technology
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to convey and relate ideas to others
  • Highly organised and have excellent attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft office skills and comfortable working with systems
  • Personable and approachable characteristics effective listening skills
  • Experience of establishing relationships through empathy and understanding
