Description

We require 2 x Trust Grades F2 Level (Non-Training) doctors to work in Otolaryngology at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby and Scunthorpe General Hospital.


Although these posts are not recognised for training and cannot be signed off for achievement of core training competencies, you will be encouraged to attend departmental teaching for professional development.

You will work a specialty specific rota Monday-Friday 08:30-17:00 with no out of hours on call. You will be well supported by senior colleagues during your tenure with us.

The permanent post is based at Grimsby and the fixed term at Scunthorpe.


You must have full registration with the General Medical Council, hold a Licence to Practice and be eligible to work in the UK.

The postholder's primary responsibility is the day to day care of the patients in their allocated ward. The postholder will receive instruction in procedures and help with management from senior colleagues. He/she will be expected to know their patients in detail and to present them on ward rounds.


The duties of the post include examining and writing up out-patient and in-patient emergency cases with responsibility for special investigation and obtaining blood and other samples and transfusions.

The duties also include assisting and performing minor and some other operations under supervision, with emergency duties. There is also
active encouragement for producing clinical papers.
