Based at our
Altham,

The
Senator Group is one of the UK's largest design led manufacturers of contract furniture with manufacturing sites across East Lancashire and US.

Working with some world renowned clients across sectors including; Corporate, Leisure & Hospitality, Education and Healthcare we design, manufacture and distribute our products to over 70 countries.

The Role:

Working with wider H&S team to review / write new procedures and processes for compliance with ISO4500
Working with the site teams to implement the business strategy for H&S.
Working with the site teams to implement improvement plans based on monitoring and evidence from injuries, incidents and near misses.
Support Managers and departments, providing specialist advice, coaching and practical support on all aspects of H&S.
Ensure that rigorous risk assessment process for the areas of control is in place, with appropriate review timescales and actions plans where appropriate to reduce risk so far as is reasonably practicable.
Supporting the site teams with accident and incident investigations, looking to understand root cause, sharing learnings as required with the wider business.
Ensuring insurance compliance in line with company policies and procedures which includes supporting with any claims and management of the process.
Working with the wider H&S team to ensure that outputs from statutory inspections are monitored and action taken where required.
Record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for Managers
Chair site safety meetings, using consistent business formatting managing input and action logs.
Supporting with training for H&S as required.
Liaising with all external bodies i.e. H&S Executive and the emergency services to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

The Person:

Previous experience of working in a similar Health and Safety role within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of ISO45001 standard.
Be able to work with autonomy as well as being part of a wider H&S team.
Experience of using Microsoft IT packages.
Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
NEBOSH general certificate, with a willingness to progress to CMIOSH.
Hold a current and clean driving licence as travel (company pool car) will be an occasional requirement within the role.
