Description
Main duties- To take overall responsibility for procurement of materials and plant.
- To assist at tender stages for unsecured schemes with obtaining of quotes for selected materials and planning timelines to which prices can be received.
- Tracking from Budget stage against actual placed orders, buying gains per scheme on a monthly basis. Report on key functional metrics to improve effectiveness via the Cost value report monthly
- Negotiation with suppliers to achieve best rates and review on a quarterly bases.
- Taking requisitions from site and turning into orders whether it's a manual hard copy of orders or later automated orders from our procurement software.
- Liaising with Site managers regarding best or equivalent materials that can be purchased.
- Attending monthly Project review meetings and report on the procurement planning of each scheme, each site will have their individual meeting onsite to which the whole team attends.
- Assist in the development of the buying/ procurement procedures.
- To feed back on material changes and new innovative materials that could be used within the industry.
- To attend and follow the site prestart check meeting and facilitate within the procurement remit section required (plant hire/ Cabins/ forklift hire/ signage etc)
- Work with Surveying/ Technical/ Site teams to produce procurement strategy for each scheme to present at prestart check meetings.
- Assist in setting up trade accounts with all suppliers.
- Develop a supplier PQQ and put into place to form part of the business's procurement procedure for suppliers in line with the Constructionline guidance and PAS 91 accreditation.
- Tender comparisons
- Materials take offs and measuring.
- Setting up of call off orders.
- Monitoring performance of supply chain and look at feed back from Site staff and surveyors.
- Keep up to date on changing design standards and building regulations and coordinate on how this is added into design where needed.
- Look to review and report on rebates across supplies and chase future rebates and discounts where group' buying/ bulk buying opportunities have been secured.
- Checking and authorising material and plant invoices.
- At times may have to attend design team meetings and advise on material availability and changes needed.
Salary:
From £60,000.00 per year
