Bluestone is a boutique vineyard on the McConnell family farm in Wiltshire, established and run by brothers, Toby and Nat, specialising in traditional method English Sparkling Wine.

The Tasting Room at Bluestone first opened in 2021 where we hosted ad hoc tours, tastings and lunches.

Thanks to their popularity, we expanded on this in 2022 and 2023 with tours running every weekend from April - October, and additional offerings such as private events, picnics and a drink-in space.

Going into our 2024 season, we are looking to continue to build this success and we are looking for brilliant new Tasting Room Hosts to join our team.

An introduction to the role:

Applicants must be over 18 as this role includes selling alcohol.


Responsibilities:

• Greeting guests and hosting them in our Tasting Room
• Be a brand ambassador for Bluestone, putting across our values and passion
• Provide excellent customer service to enhance the overall guest experience
• Maintain a professional and friendly demeanour while interacting with our guests
• Actively identify opportunities to increase revenue through the Tasting Room
• Sell products in the Tasting Room by providing high quality customer service: by assisting and advising customers
• Provide drinkin and lunch service
• Wash and polish glassware and tableware
• Assist with the set up and clear down of tours and lunches
• Responsible for opening/ closing of the Tasting Room
• Use stock and sales system
• Restocking
• Packing and sending online orders
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the Tasting Room and other Bluestone areas
• Prepare and serve drinks. Assist with post tour lunch service
• Administration: sales reports, checkingin guests, use our stock and sales system
• Attend and assist at some offsite events

Experience:

• A genuine interest in wine, specifically English Wine is preferred
• Previous experience in a customer facing or retail sales role is preferred
• Strong communication skills
• A naturally friendly nature
• Great organisational skills
• The ability to work autonomously, be adaptable and think on your feet
• Ability to handle unexpected situations or changes in itinerary with professionalism and adaptability

Qualifications:

• WSET certification or similar (preferred)
