IMMEDIATE START
Are you looking for school based work with Secondary Aged learners and want 5 days per week

long term ?

Are you an Experienced TA looking for the next step or a current Higher Level Teaching assistant ?

Are you are Maths or English Graduate ?


GSL Education Newcastle are currently looking for an experienced Higher Teaching Assistant or an exceptional TA with Strong Maths and English Ability.

Working closely with the Maths and English leads you will deliver catch-up and intervention sessions to learners across school.

The setting caters for young people with additional needs around anxiety, mental health and behaviour.

It is situated in the Peterlee Area and is really accessible, friendly and well organised with a fantastic team work ethic.

We are looking for a confident practitioner who has great behaviour management and is passionate about raising outcomes.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am -15.30pm

The Role is expected to run until the end of the academic year


Minimum Requirements for applicants:


  • Great rapport builder, calm, kind and proactive
  • A graduate with a recent degree in Maths or English who intends to start teacher training in 2023/202
  • Proven TA experience with challenging learners or a current HLTA
  • The ability to deliver small Maths and English sessions in a patient way
  • Excellent deescalation skills
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or relevant education setting experience
  • An enhanced Child or Child and Adult DBS on the update service or be prepared to go through the process with GSL Education
  • Availability for at least six months
  • The ability to support effective learning


In addition to that, GSL Education is currently offering £100 for the successful referral of either Teachers or Teaching Assistants.
