Assurance and Community Liaison Advisor:


Job objectives and responsibilities

  • Support the Account Manager in the effective delivery of the Home Office Security Guarding Service (SGS)
  • To act as the SME in the provision of holistic protective security, customer experience and standards auditing for Security Guarding Service contract.
  • Critical assurance role tying together the site visits, complaints, investigations, spot checks and supporting wider community value ad.
  • Lead on the implementation of a
    Digital risk assessment process and dashboard for centrally controlled, auditable outputs for each location that meet NPSA standards.
  • Be responsible for building and maintaining stakeholder relationships with Faith Schools and Mosques, and most importantly, creating conduits for collaborative working across the contract.
  • To work collaboratively with all internal and external stakeholders, including the Esotec the Home Office physical security partner, to support the implementation of a risk based security model.

Main duties

  • Conduct and maintain individual site security risk assessments through the digital 'Hutton' SRA Tool
  • Make recommendations for the treatment of any identified vulnerabilities including the provision of adequate Security Officer numbers at each location
  • Conducting incident investigations, deliver post incident reports and implementing lessons learnt
  • Drive evaluation and improvement cycle for security across the SGS contract
  • Assisting in security planning for known future events or emerging threats that is likely to impact locations on the SGS contract
  • Work collaboratively with the intelligence team to ensure that threat intelligence is actioned as appropriate
  • Form networks, partnerships and accessing best practice from the Mitie Assurance Manager community
  • Maintain working knowledge of Faith Community and industry standards, regulations and initiatives that will enable the delivery of a best in class service
  • Conduct assurance reviews to ensure a high standard of SGS delivery across the account
  • Supporting site teams and managers, customers and service providers through the delivery of workshops, reports, and regular site visits

Person Specification

  • PSP qualified and/or security management experience of minimum 10 years
  • Proven capacity for security assurance design, development and delivery
  • Previous experience in delivering standards auditing and operational readiness exercises
  • Established expert in team training, change management, development and mentoring
  • Demonstrable capability to concept, produce and maintain improvement plans

Health and Safety responsibilities

  • Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system

Information Security

  • Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities;
  • Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;
  • Report actual and suspected security incidents
