The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) is looking to recruit a pro-active, self motivated and ambitious Senior Buyer to join our team.
As Senior Buyer you will be able to work with conflicting requirements and to challenging deadlines.

You will be confident in your organisational and time management skills and will use these to ensure the service is responsive to the changing needs of the organisation.


Currently predominately home based - the role requires flexible working from Trust Offices and Home location with flexibility to meet the demands of the role (due to the nature of the role you may be required to work on various NCA sites from time to time).

Main duties of the job:


The Northern Care Alliance (NCA) is looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic procurement professional to join their award winning procurement team in the role of Senior Buyer.


The role will sit within our Strategic Sourcing team and as Senior Buyer you will contribute to the management of a designated category area.


Experience within a procurement function is essential and you must have an understanding of public sector procurement including EU Regulations and OJEU procurement processes and thresholds.


CIPS qualified or willingness to work towards the qualification, plus experience in the Healthcare sector, though not essential, would be a distinct advantage.

Knowledge:


Essential criteria:


  • Demonstrable knowledge of Procurement processes and requirements
  • Knowledge & understanding of Public Contract Regulations and Standing Financial Instructions to ensure all requisitions / orders / contracts comply with organisational policies

Experience:


Essential criteria:


  • Experience of working within a procurement environment/function
  • Experience of working under pressure to strict deadlines prioritising workload
  • Experience of delivering procurement projects with a proven track record of success in delivering benefits and savings
  • Experience of managing various stakeholders including third party organisations to deliver results through influence and persuasion

Qualification:


Essential criteria:


  • Currently working towards/willingness to work towards CIPS
  • A good standard of general education incl. GCSE Maths and English or equivalent

Desirable criteria:


  • Evidence of Continuous professional development (CPD)

Skills:

  • Evidence of good communication
  • Proficient with IT systems
  • Evidence of good organisational/time keeping skills
  • Ability to analyse areas of work to identify areas which would benefit from improvement
