Description

As a member of the nursery team, you will assist in the implementation of the Early Years Foundation stage curriculum, promoting a stimulating environment of play, and encouraging and supporting the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of the children.

Option for further training to progress and acquire Level 3 Nursery Practitioner qualification if applicable.

The role would be suitable for anyone who is seeking to complete a
Level 3 qualification having some or no experience of working in Early Years.

To be viable for a Level 3 qualification, the ability to write at a Level 3 standard is paramount; having gained GCSE Math's and English A-C or 9-4 would be advantageous, if you have not gained these previously, Oasis will support you to gain the Level 2 Functional Skills Math's and English.

Ultimately, wage will depend on age and current qualification. Rising after completion of probation.

Daily Duties:

Alerting the Nursery Practitioner of:All personal concerns in relation to the development, care or safety of any child.
Dealing with any specific parent requests or any known changes in circumstances that would affect a child such as marital issues, new pregnancies, new partners etc.
Performing door duty (welcoming parents individually and politely when they drop off and collect their child(ren)) when directed by the Deputy Manager.
Assisting Nursery Practitioners with the set up and preparation of rooms and outdoor area in line with weekly plans.
Implementation of planned activities as indicated by daily plans.
Taking responsibility of nappy changes and maintenance of corresponding log sheet.
To read, understand and adhere to our Safeguarding Children and Child Protection policy and procedures.
Attend safeguard training to ensure knowledge is up to date
Report any signs of possible abuse and neglect at the earliest opportunity in line with procedures stated in our Safeguarding Policy
Monitor children's attendance and consider any possible safeguarding concerns when absence is unexplained in line with our Attendance Policy

On completion of the apprenticeship, the learner will achieve the Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce.
